And if all bubbles were equal ? Science and applications of monodisperse foams

Sticking bubbles of equal volume together provides a simple system with complex properties
which raise a number of fundamental scientific questions. Into what kind of structures do the
bubbles organise themselves and why ? How do these arrangements deform under gravity ?
And how can we generate them ? In bridging historic aspects of this subject with ongoing
research, the presentation attempts to provide some answers to these questions. Moreover,
it will show how this understanding can be combined with micro/milli-fluidic flow chemistry
to develop porous solids with intriguing properties.
