Engineer position in Molecular Biology/Chemical Biology/Nucleic Acid Chemistry Covid-19 diagnostic research collaboration with 4Catalyzer/Detect Full Time CBI - ESPCI Paris PSL LBC Team - Prof. Andrew Griffiths

ESPCI Paris PSL
ESPCI Paris PSL is a major institution of higher education (a French "Grande École d’ingénieurs"), an internationally renowned research center (6 Nobel Prizes), and a fertile ground for innovation, with several start-ups founded each year. ESPCI is a highly multidisciplinary environment with teaching and research in physics, chemistry and biology.

Covid-19 diagnostic project
The COVID-19 pandemic is a once-in-a-century global crisis. Widespread, frequent testing is the key to getting the world back on its feet. Current COVID-19 testing options are expensive, slow, and uncomfortable.
In collaboration with Detect Inc. (a 4Catalyzer company, founded by Jonathan Rothberg, the pioneer of next-generation sequencing), our goal is to develop an accurate, affordable, and simple testing that can be done anywhere — from the point of care to the home. We aim to make testing available to everyone around the world, for COVID-19 today and any pathogen tomorrow.

Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to work on Covid-19 diagnostic test development. Requirements are experience in molecular biology, chemical biology, nucleic acid chemistry or related fields, with expertise in nucleic acid amplification and detection chemistries highly desirable.
Flexibility, autonomy, the ability to work in a highly multidisciplinary team and good interpersonal skills are essential.
