  • You are an international student with a Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or Materials Science.
  • You are interested in studying and obtaining the diploma at ESPCI ParisTech but do not fit in the other categories.

Then this text is for you. We do accept a limited number of foreign students which have the required background and motivation.

What to expect from the ESPCI ParisTech

The ESPCI ParisTech (Ecole supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles de la Ville de Paris) is a French Grande Ecole which selects its French students through a "concours d'admission" which stresses heavily math and physics skills and is taken typically two years after the baccalaureate. The ESPCI ParisTech curriculum emphasizes basic science (chemistry and physics) and provides a high level of training in both disciplines. The required math level, particularly for the physics courses is significant and maybe difficult for you depending on your background.

The diploma delivered by the ESPCI ParisTech after three years is equivalent to a Master's degree, is recognized internationally and highly regarded in France in both industry and academia. The strength of the ESPCI ParisTech training is its strong focus on research. 60-70% of our students continue toward doctorates and the curriculum includes several research inernships inside and outside the school. Our education program will prepare you really well for a doctorate.

Details on the programs are given in the academic pages. If you would like more information on the requirements to apply and see whether they could apply to you contact directly the Office of International relations or the Direction of Academic programs. We do accept a few students every year based on their spontaneous applications and particularly encourage students from countries that are not covered by the ParisTech program.
